Welcome to the African Storybook Project wiki!

This wiki is connected to the African Storybook Project which will be publishing its website in early 2014 at www.africanstorybook.org. This wiki is a showcase of the stories that were written by teachers and their students around South Africa as part of the African Storybook Project digital writing course held in 2013. The first step was that the teachers completed the free, short, online Digital Storytelling course created and run by Fiona Beal from SchoolNet. This course was held over a four week period and it covered the following content:

Week 1: Introducing Digital Storytelling
Week 2: Choose a suitable story structure for your story
Week 3: Write your story in PowerPoint and add illustrations
Week 4: Explore adding your story to an online digital writing tool of your choice

After completing the course and submitting their stories (they did a great job), the teachers then got their respective classes to write stories using ideas gleaned from the course and they submitted those. This wiki showcases all these stories. They were edited by their respective teachers before being submitted (hopefully!) The stories are aimed at mainly Grade 3 students.

We hope you enjoy reading these as much as we have all enjoyed creating them. Just click on the one you want to read and you'll be taken to the Yublisher.com page that changes the stories into e-books!

We would like to hear what you think about our stories!
